Blog Flash 2012: Day 15

15. Books



He did as requested, delivering the fragile lady to her hollow house of books, flowers, and maids.
Helping her out silently, he re-boarded the phaeton.
"Thank you, Mr Hurst."
Once her stolid footsteps led her away, he was gone too, so sure of her affections but not at all of how to release them.
Langston's repaired barouche rolled past him on his return. The gentleman stopped a moment and thanked him. "Is Miss Sheffield safe at home?"
"She would be more if I was but accepted."
Langston mistook this as jest and laughed. “Ah, yes, wouldn’t that be a post!”
